7 July, 2005
The German Shepherd Dog, Yasko Vom
Farbenspiel SV Nr. 2010154 was collected on 31 May 2005. The
semen analysis results are as follows:
Libido was moderate
Semen color/clarity was
cloudy/thick
Motility was 90%
Abnormal motility
was less than 1%
Abnormal
morphology was less than 1%, with no other cells present
Speed was moderate.
Motility quality was excellent
Sperm concentration after
dilution for freezing was 93 million per ml, or 698
million total in 2.5 cc of
“second fraction”
These results are excellent, especially for
a dog of this age. Yasko has been bred to females at this
clinic who have produced litters within the last month and he
has litters due in the next few weeks.
At this time, our pregnancy success rate is
best if the semen is freshly collected and insemination is by
immediate surgical A.I. I cannot explain this
phenomenon.
Sincerely,
Harold J Krug, DVM
