Dear Bill: I wouldn't expect you to remember, but WE
were certainly happy to celebrate Tim's second birthday
on Friday (you sent Tim to us in Brooklyn, he's from a
Hill and Wendy litter). We walked to the new dog
boutique on Friday evening and bought him a couple of
treats to celebrate. This morning (Sunday), Tim
repaid up by barking twice at about 6:30AM and waking us
up. Sensing that something just wan't right, I
came upstairs (with Tim at my side), and discovered a
burglar who had entered through a window at the back of
our house. He was qute surprised to be caught by
me and Tim and made a very hasty escape back out through
the window, across our nieghbor's deck and over several
fences to get back onto the street. Tim had heard
him and had woken us up before he was able to take very
much, although he had ransacked our library,
disassembled our computer equipment, gone through desk
drawers and bathroom medicine cabinets, etc. The
policemen and detectives who were in and out of our
house for a good bit of the morning were very impressed
by our brave GSD, and we were ever so grateful for such
a good dog. Just thought you might enjoy this
story, and know that even though we've spoiled him
rotten, Tim hasn't forgotten he has a job to do around
our home. Take care,
Nancy Peterson

Bill,
Ed and I bought Jake from you last
October. He's a Yasko/Dorle, born 7-1-05 on my birthday.
He has been an utter delight.
I believe he weighed 27 lbs. when we got him and he now weighs
70 lbs. at almost 8 months old. He has finished his "basic
training" and is very well behaved. We found a wonderful
trainer very near to our ranch and Jake spent 2 weeks with him
in January and will spend another 2 weeks in April. The
training approach was gentle, but, firm and Jake responded
beautifully.
It's really a shame that we don't
plan to show or breed him as he has beautiful conformation and
markings like his father.
Over the 50 years that we have been
married, we've had lots of dogs, some we thought were bright and
others were so-so. Jake is so smart, it's scary. He
has never had an accident in the house, has never chewed
anything up and sleeps by our bed -untethered- all night.
You may remember that we bought Jake
because we had lost our Lab, Ed's hunting dog, to cancer.
We've so enjoyed Jake that Ed is going to get another Lab puppy.
The puppies will be due this spring. Don't know if the AKC notifies you
of registrations or not, but, we registered Jake as Jacob Vom
Fleischerheim.
Thank you so much for our beautiful,
loving dog.
Judy Wright
P.S. We took Jake to Tahoe
with us over the holidays and he was hilarious in the snow.
Can't wait to see what he'll think
of boating this summer.

Hi Bill and Evy,
This is Nikki Koenig. Nala is doing great! Soon we are going to get her in some puppy classes. Fasko and Nala get along great together now, they chase each other around the house a lot. She is a very obedient dog. She listens to me almost all the time. She doesn't have very many accidents in the house either. She seems like the perfect puppy. She has a lot of energy and she tries to keep up with Fasko but she can't move quite as fast as him yet. My dad and I would like to thank you for giving us such a wonderful puppy.
Thank you again,
Nikki Koenig

Hi Bill,
I wanted to share with you some recent
pictures of our girl, Yetta. Yetta will be 4 years old
the end of April (she's a pup from Paola & Untox '02).
We recently moved to central WI, and Yetta is loving the
cool weather and the fresh snow. We continue to enjoy
her companionship, loyalty & beauty (and her goofiness too!)
every day. Yetta is the perfect match for us & she is well
loved.
Happy holidays to you and yours!
V/R,
Joshua & Beth Hansen

Hi Bill,
Just thought I'd let you know how Ecco
(Zeb's call name) and I are doing. As you know, I was really worried
about the long coat since he is a farm dog, but it hasn't proved to
be a problem at all. He's going on 7 mos. We spend every
Saturday at a training camp where he does advanced obedience,
protection and tracking. We track during the week on the
farm through deep woods with another GSD. Both dogs are excellent so
it's really fun. His drives are well-balanced, he's very polite,
loves people and always eager to go with me. We're pretty much
inseparable. As you can see, he's quite handsome...a real head
turner.
So, he's everything you said he would be.
I don't know why I'm surprised. The last dog you picked for me was
perfect, too.
Betty

I thought I'd send you a few photos
of our Hill x Wendy pup, call sign "Ed". He's just 10 months old
this past week. He weighs in at about 84 pounds, although he is
not an especially tall GSD (like our last Czech dog)...he's very
deep in the chest and I assume he has big bones, because he
carries the weight well and looks much lighter (at least to me).
He is, as promised, a dominant male and a wonderful animal. He
is toy-crazy, even at the expense of passing up food, which
makes training so much easier for us. We're working him on a
puppy sleeve right now, and he is the star of his obedience
classes. As you can see, he is athletic and colored like a real
GSD...looks like the sire. Although he has shown absolutely no
aggression with the family or the other dogs at home, at the age
of about 4 months he cornered a workman in the yard and looked
ready to bite until I called him back. He definitely is a
protective animal. Despite his size and appearance, he is still
very much a puppy in many ways, and he may, like our last GSD,
mature only as he approaches 18 months or so. This is one really
fine dog.
Thanks for my dog. He is all I hoped
he would be. As our dog population changes from attrition,
we'll be back for another Fleischer animal, perhaps a female
next time.

Umi is doing well. I am really
happy with her, and it was nice to get an OFA good.
I really want to title her. I am going to send her
stuff to USA now that I have her OFA back. I would
really like to get her Conformation rating also.
Thanks

Bill
thought I would give you an update on York.
He is GREAT!!! hoping he thinks the same of us.
I can't get him off my hip, he literally follows me to the bathroom.
he loves to be in the truck and on the job site or in the office.
he is great with the other dog ( a female lab) that comes to the
office.
I have finished the fence around the place so he now has 2.5 acres
to roam, we are very happy with him.
thanks again
